The domain picload.org was registered on 2007-02-18 at 14.11 and 20 seconds. A small noname image host with ony 400 images should be moved and continued under the domain which just was registered. What began four years ago has developped to a project with 600GB traffic in course of time. And we’re really proud of it!

It was foreseeable that the 2nd decade in the 2nd millennium would come sometime but it was very surprising that it so fastly approached. That's why we used the last 50 hours and 13 minutes to collect our thoughts to analyze the last statistics of the last year and to prepare for the new year. A review of 2010 which mostly consists of matter-of-fact numbers and a view in the crystal ball of the future should help us to be able to finally conclude with the past.

There has happened a lot since the last entry on 18 August. I'm very glad that I don't have to deliver any bad messages this time, but only good ones. The longed for Archive Uploader has been finally finished, we got new servers, there is a help for the frequently asked questions now, the user area has been extended and the contact page has been revised.

A large-area blackout in the whole centre of Erfurt has created big problems for us as well on Monday, 16th August. A defective UPS-equipment in the data center of Keyweb AG was blamed for the fact that all our servers weren’t available.

It’s almost two weeks ago since our entire data base replication laid down its service. The master suddenly started to jerk again two days ago. It simply forgot data bases although we have practically changed the whole servers’ hardware on 17th June.

Bad luck pursues us now. Murphy had destroyed our Master data base server on Monday and on Wednesday it was the Slave’s turn which has had to take on the complete data base history since the first breakdown. Honestly: We have had no idea until now why the servers were so angry that they completely refused their service.

There has been sent messages in various social networks the last few days. These messages contain a supposed picload.org link. A Java Applet is offered for installing at the page which is disguised as picload.org to be able to look at an alleged party photo in a higher definition. A virus is really hidden on the computer. The virus makes it possible to spy out the computer. A remote control of the computer through a hacker is also possible.
